Navbar

A sticky floating glass navbar: blurred, tinted pill with a sliding hover highlight, a raised shadow on scroll and a mobile menu that unfolds inside the pill. Framework-free, dark mode included.

Navbar New

A floating glass pill for the top of a site: sticky, blurred and tinted, with a highlight that slides under the hovered link and a stronger shadow once the page scrolls. On small screens the links fold into a menu that unfolds inside the pill. CSS gives the bar; ace-navbar.js adds the moving highlight, the scroll shadow, the mobile menu and a canvas glass layer: tint that thins over the rim, light on the edge, and (in Chromium) the page bent in at the rim.

Keep it to four or five links, and mark the current page with aria-current="page".
Put secondary actions (Sign in) in .ace-navbar-secondary: they move into the mobile menu on phones.

Don't

Nest dropdowns in it; link to a page instead.
Use more than one per page.
